Manchester United have reportedly moved closer to securing the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
Both United and neighbours Manchester City have been strongly linked with the player, but it appears that United have won the race for the Brazilian international's signature.
According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with the Premier League giants next week ahead of a transfer which could cost United a total of £52.2m.
Brazil are currently in England ahead of Sunday's friendly with Croatia at Anfield, giving United the opportunity to go through the final stages of the deal.
Fred impressed during the Champions League this season, with his performances helping Shakhtar through to the last 16 of the competition.
