Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has highlighted the togetherness of his team as the catalyst for the Saints getting their first win of the season.
Southampton recovered from a goal down to win 4-1 against Aston Villa to pick up their first points in the Premier League.
Adkins thinks that the belief and unity of the side has seen them through their tough start.
"We want to pass the football and everyone is aware of that," he said.
"I think the supporters understand that as well and there was a massive togetherness all through the stadium today.
"It is understandable when you lose the first game of the season [that there is anxiety], but we keep talking to the players. This is a club where everyone is united."
The Southampton fans sang Adkins's name throughout the match and he was quick to praise their support.
He continued: "We have got some fantastic staff, some fantastic players and importantly the supporters, who are outstanding.
"They get behind the players and the team. They know what we are trying to achieve, together as one."
Southampton faced Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in what was always going to be a tough start for the newly-promoted team.
