Juan Mata says that he is not in need of a rest and wants to keep playing for Chelsea.

Chelsea star Juan Mata has pleaded with Rafael Benitez not to rest him against Everton on Sunday.

The Spaniard scored his seventh league goal of the season to secure a 1-0 win over Norwich City on Boxing Day.

Current Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez has implemented a system of rotating players since taking over from Roberto Di Matteo, but Mata said that he is keen to continue in the Blues' midfield.

"I want to play more, I want to keep playing, keep training, keep enjoying this club and this Premier League," said Mata.

"I'm very happy with how it's going - the season - for me and for the team and I just have to keep working."

Mata joined Chelsea from Valencia last summer.
