Agent: 'Gareth Bale nowhere near leaving Real Madrid'

The agent of Gareth Bale insists that the Wales international was "nowhere near leaving" Real Madrid during the summer.

The agent of Gareth Bale has insisted that the winger was "nowhere near leaving" Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The Wales international was linked with a switch to Manchester United, with the club said to be confident of luring him to Old Trafford.

However, Jonathan Barnett has reiterated that 26-year-old Bale sees his future at Santiago Bernabeu.

"He was nowhere near leaving - that was all stupid paper talk," Barnett told Sky Sports News.

"He is very happy at Real Madrid and hopefully he'll stay for the rest of his career. He's loving it there and things are going well for him."

Bale cost Real a record £85m when they signed him from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
